Most people are familiar with the benefits of exercising, which include having a better appearance, being in a better mood, and supporting their long-term well-being. It’s one of those things that offers a near-endless list of advantages, to such a degree that it really can be a game-changer. Virtually everyone who begins an exercise regimen ends up saying that it has had a dramatically positive impact on their life.

And yet, despite all the benefits it offers, there are still plenty of people who don’t work out. Those people often give a selection of excuses as to why they haven’t yet begun their exercise journey. In this post, we’ll run through some of the most common excuses we hear, as well as their solutions.

“I Have No Time”

Modern life can be pretty busy, and so this excuse isn’t entirely unmerited. In between work, family life, and resting, it can be difficult to find the time to spend hours at the gym.

But to that, we’ll say two things. The first is that you don’t need to spend hours in the gym. Forty-five minutes, or even less, is enough. The second is that you might have more time in the day than you think. Could you go before or after work, or even in the evening, after your home chores have been handled? Ultimately, if you’re really committed, then you’ll find the time.

“It’s Expensive”

You might want to get fit, but you won’t want to compromise the health of your bank balance in order to do so. The reality is, it’s often simply not realistic to spend a hundred dollars or more on a gym membership each month.

But who says you have to? While gyms can be expensive, there are others, such as Fitness 19, that are much more affordable. They also have everything you need to get into shape, ensuring that you can become your healthiest self without worrying about the financial impact.

“I’ve Never Exercised Before”

Well, that’s true for everyone at some point. While it can be a little intimidating to begin a fitness journey when you have minimal experience with exercise, the truth is that it’s one of those things that you pick up quickly, especially if you book a session with a personal trainer. They’ll tell you everything that you should be doing, as well as the correct way to do it.

“I Don’t Care About How I Look”

From the outside, it can feel as if people go to the gym because they want to improve their appearance. But that’s really only a small part of why people do it. The main reason why most gym-goers do what they do is because of the impact it can have on their mental well-being. Going to the gym is a fantastic way to support your mental health, and it can also boost confidence, improve posture, and improve your long-term physical health. You likely will look better once you start going to the gym, but that can be a secondary or tertiary motivating factor if need be!
