AMZCHEF 8-in-1 Milk Frother and Steamer with 550W IH Induction Heating

Affiliate Disclosure

If you like lattes, cappuccinos, or hot chocolate but don’t want to learn how to use a manual steam wand, the AMZCHEF 8-in-1 Milk Frother and Steamer is an easy alternative. It handles hot and cold foam, warms milk, and includes separate programs for hot chocolate and plant-based milks.

What stood out to me is the combination of the large detachable jug and the induction heating system. Most countertop frothers make enough milk for one drink and can be annoying to clean. This one holds up to 600 ML for heating, froths up to 300 ML at a time, and has a dishwasher-safe stainless steel jug.

It’s more machine than you need if you only add a splash of milk to your coffee. But if you regularly make milk-based drinks—or make them for more than one person—the extra capacity and automatic programs make a lot of sense. Let’s dive in.

AMZCHEF 8-in-1 Milk Frother and Steamer: The Verdict

Performance & Function: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overall: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

The TLDR

We’ve been using the AMZCHEF 8 in 1 Milk Frother as an easy way to make fancier drinks at home. We’ve experimented with lattes, cappuccinos, and hot chocolate (my son’s favorite). It can make hot or cold foam and warm milk without having to mess with a steam wand.

One thing I like is the 600 mL capacity. It can heat enough milk for a couple of drinks at once, although the frothing capacity is smaller at 300 mL. The 550W induction heating also heats the milk more evenly than the basic frothers that only heat from the bottom.

It is bigger than a handheld frother, but it is also much more useful, durable, and sleek. Add the milk, choose the setting, and it does the work for you. If you regularly make coffee drinks, hot chocolate, or dairy free drinks at home, it is a convenient upgrade.

Selling Points

  • Eight Automatic Functions: You get Dense Foam, Light Foam, Hot Foam, Cold Foam, Hot Chocolate, Cashew Milk, Soy Milk, and Gentle Warming. That covers most of the drinks someone would realistically make with a countertop frother.

  • 550W Induction Heating: Instead of concentrating heat at the bottom of the jug, the induction system distributes it more evenly around the cup. This helps reduce hot spots, scorching, and that layer of cooked milk that can be annoying to scrub off afterward.

  • Smooth, Consistent Foam: A magnetic-drive whisk circulates the milk automatically to create fine-textured foam. You don’t need to position a steam wand, control the angle, or figure out when you’ve added enough air. Select the program, press the knob, and let the machine handle it.

  • Large Detachable Jug: The stainless steel jug holds up to 600 ML when heating milk and up to 300 ML when frothing. That’s enough to make multiple drinks without starting over for every person, which is helpful when my wife and I both want something—or when friends and family are over.

  • Plant-Based Milk Settings: Dedicated Cashew Milk and Soy Milk programs are useful because non-dairy milks don’t always respond well to the same temperatures and frothing cycles as whole milk. Results will still depend on the brand and ingredients, but separate programs give you a better starting point.

  • Hot and Cold Options: Hot foam works for traditional lattes and cappuccinos, while cold foam is useful for iced coffee.

  • OLED Display and One-Knob Control: The display shows which program you’ve selected, and the single knob keeps the process simple. Turn it to choose a setting and press it to start. There aren’t eight different buttons to memorize or a complicated menu to work through.

  • Easy Cleanup: The stainless steel jug is removable and dishwasher safe. The whisk needs to be removed and washed by hand, while the powered base can be wiped with a damp cloth.

  • Automatic Standby Mode: After 60 seconds without use, the frother enters standby mode.

Drawbacks

  • Frothing Capacity Is Lower Than Heating Capacity: The jug holds 600 ML for warming, but only 300 ML for frothing because the milk needs room to expand. If you fill it to the heating line and then try to froth it, you could end up with milk overflowing onto the counter.

  • Whole Milk Will Usually Work Best: AMZCHEF recommends whole milk with more than 3% fat for the best foam. Lower-fat and plant-based milks can still work, but the texture and volume will vary depending on their protein, fat, and added stabilizers.

  • It Takes Up Counter Space: The large jug is one of the best features, but it also makes this bigger than a handheld frother. If your kitchen is already crowded, you’ll need to decide whether you make enough milk-based drinks to leave it on the counter.

Who Do I Recommend It For?

A handheld frother works for quickly mixing a small amount of milk, but it doesn’t warm anything and rarely creates consistent foam. The AMZCHEF makes more sense if you want the whole process automated. Here’s who will probably get the most use out of it:

  • Latte and cappuccino drinkers who want automatic foam without using a steam wand

  • Couples and families who need enough warm or frothed milk for multiple drinks

  • Hot chocolate drinkers who want a dedicated program instead of using the stove

  • People who regularly use soy milk or cashew milk

  • Iced coffee drinkers who want cold foam at home

  • Anyone who values simple controls and easy cleanup

Tips

  • Pay Attention to the Fill Lines: The jug can hold more milk for warming than it can for frothing. Use the correct line for the program you select so the foam has room to expand.

  • Use Cold Milk for Better Foam: Start with refrigerated milk when using one of the frothing modes. Colder milk generally gives the machine more time to introduce air before it reaches the target temperature.

  • Clean the Jug Soon After Use: Even with induction heating, milk residue becomes harder to remove once it dries. Rinse the jug and hand-wash the whisk soon after pouring your drink.

My Experience

I’m pretty sure I had never even said the word “froth” before I met my wife. She is the frothing queen in our house and has been using a little handheld frother for years. Coffee, lattes, hot chocolate, whatever she is making, somehow frothing is usually involved. Eventually we decided it was time to upgrade the little handheld one to this puppy.

When I first pulled out the AMZCHEF, I figured my wife would be the one using it the most. Then my son saw it. He is seven years old and basically the chocolate milk loving king of our house, so once he realized this thing could warm milk and make foam, he was completely sold.

Now he pulls up a stool to the counter, gets the milk out of the refrigerator, mixes up his chocolate milk, and uses the AMZCHEF to finish it off. With us nearby, he can pretty much handle the entire process himself. He loves watching the milk spin around, waiting for it to finish, and then pouring it into a mug like he is working behind the counter at a coffee shop.

The funniest part is that he has started making drinks for other people too. If we have family or friends over, he will grab a mug and ask if they want something. He takes the whole thing very seriously. Apparently we have a seven year old barista now.

For me, that says a lot about how easy the AMZCHEF is to use. Our handheld frother worked fine, but you still had to heat the milk separately, hold the frother, move it around, and try not to make a mess. With this, you pour everything in, choose the setting, and let it do its thing.

FAQ

What drinks can the AMZCHEF 8-in-1 Milk Frother make?

It includes settings for Dense Foam, Light Foam, Hot Foam, Cold Foam, Hot Chocolate, Cashew Milk, Soy Milk, and Gentle Warming. These can be used for lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, iced coffee, hot cocoa, and other milk-based drinks.

What is the maximum capacity?

The stainless steel jug holds up to 600 ML when heating milk and up to 300 ML when frothing. The lower frothing limit leaves room for the milk to expand without overflowing.

Does it make both hot and cold foam?

Yes. The machine has dedicated settings for Hot Foam and Cold Foam, making it suitable for both traditional hot coffee drinks and iced drinks.

Can I use plant-based milk?

Yes. It includes dedicated programs for soy milk and cashew milk. Other plant-based milks may also work, although the amount and texture of the foam will depend on the milk’s ingredients. Barista-style versions generally produce more reliable results.

What type of milk makes the best foam?

AMZCHEF recommends whole milk containing more than 3% fat. Different milks will produce different results, so you may need to experiment with the program and brand you use.

How does the induction heating system work?

The 550W induction system distributes heat more evenly around the jug instead of heating only from the bottom. This helps reduce hot spots, overheating, and scorched milk.

Is the AMZCHEF milk frother easy to operate?

Yes. Turn the knob to select one of the eight programs and press it to begin. The OLED display shows the selected setting, so there’s very little guesswork involved.

Is the jug dishwasher safe?

Yes, the detachable stainless steel jug is dishwasher safe. The removable whisk should be washed by hand, and the powered base should be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

Can it make enough milk for two drinks?

Usually, yes. The 300 ML frothing capacity should be enough for two smaller drinks, while the 600 ML warming capacity works well when preparing larger servings. The exact number will depend on how much milk each drink requires.

Can I use it to practice latte art?

You can use the foam for basic latte art, but the automatic programs give you less control over milk texture than a manual steam wand. It is better suited to making consistent foam with minimal effort than mastering advanced latte art.
