What’s inside the Overwell Microlearning App?

Ever feel like the day gets ahead of you before your coffee goes cold? When you’re already running low, an hour of self-care sounds like a luxury.

The Overwell app fits into the five minutes you do have. Overwell lessons take ideas from well-studied approaches in psychology and turn them into tools you can use the moment you need them: between meetings or in line at the grocery store. You choose how many micro-lessons you want to learn a day. And every learning session leaves you a little better equipped for whatever tomorrow brings.

What is an Overwell app?

Overwell is a microlearning app that turns your well-being into practical skills you can use in your daily life. You start with a course on the problem you came with. Short lessons in the course explain why your mind works the way it does in typical everyday situations, drawing on ideas from psychological research.

How is Overwell built?

The app has three main parts: courses, micro-lessons, and the Growth Map. A course is the big theme you pick after onboarding, with 20+ micro-lessons inside. They're grouped into skills of 4 to 6 micro-lessons, and each lesson is one capability you're building.

For example, in the course on responding to stress, you start by understanding your triggers, then learn to name your feelings, act with intention, and build a daily system that survives a normal week.

Across a course, the idea remains the same: reflect on what's going on, try a tool, take it with you, and practice it until it becomes a habit.

What does a session look like?

Most sessions take about five minutes. Here’s what one can look like on a real day.

Your manager messages: “Can we talk tomorrow morning?” Your jaw clenches and your stomach tightens. Within a minute, your mind is running through every way the talk could go wrong.

So you open Overwell. You start with the breathing exercise from your last lesson, which gives your body a chance to settle before you try to think it through. Then you open an AI role-play and rehearse the conversation: what your manager might say and how you’d answer the question you’re dreading.

Five minutes later, you close the app. The worry hasn’t vanished, but it’s quieter, and you go into tomorrow with a plan instead of a loop of worst cases.

What's inside a micro-lesson?

You start with a short quiz, and your first course is based on your answers. The program is built on CBT techniques. Each course is split into skills, and each skill into micro-lessons of about five minutes.

A lesson pairs one idea about how your mind and body work with one practice. Every few lessons, a new piece of your Growth Map opens.

The practice is tied to exactly what you just learned. It can be:

  • An exercise, such as box breathing

  • A questionnaire

  • An AI role-play

You can bring your own situation into the role-play, like a tense conversation, and replay it a different way. It gives you a low-stakes place to try a new response before a real-life situation.

Which courses can you take?

After onboarding, you pick the course that fits your life right now. The courses cover the following topics:

  • Responding to stress

  • Boosting your energy

  • Building resilience

  • Controlling your reactions

  • Understanding trauma

  • Learning to procrastinate less

What does the Growth Map show?

The Growth Map shows the patterns in your own answers: your mind trends, emotional signals, and coping styles, plus advice on what works for your issue. It builds over the course, and each micro-lesson adds to the picture.

The map is split into 4 or 5 parts, depending on the length of the course. After you finish a few micro-lessons, a new part unlocks. To see the full map, you need to complete the whole course. The map gives your progress a shape you can look at.

How fast do you have to go?

As fast as suits you. Not everyone has the same time or energy, so choose 1, 3, or 5 micro-lessons a day. Pick 1 on a heavy week and 5 on a week with room.

Who is Overwell for?

Overwell is for people overwhelmed by the speed and intensity of modern life, who know something has to change but have little energy to change it. It fits when life feels heavy, and you keep landing in the same old pattern. It also fits if you're curious how your mind handles hard moments.

Where do you start?

Start with a quiz that helps you pick a course, then take your first micro-lesson. Do that a few times, and a skill starts to take shape while your Growth Map shows patterns in how you respond.

You set the pace, from 1 to 5 micro-lessons a day. Overwell turns well-being into something you can practice in the five minutes you have, using situations from your own life.
